Each year, PFD members teach fire safety to pre-school through 5th grade at Pentwater Public School using Walkerville's smoke trailer.

The Steam Engine "Oceana" in front of 292 S. Hancock which still stands today. The Oceana was to be delivered in 1871, but was pressed into service to fight the Great Chicago fire before it could be shipped to Pentwater. The manufacturer hastily built and shipped a replacement. The hose wagon is at the Pentwater Historical Society.
This truck currently is being refurbished by a collector on the East Coast. Photos will be forthcoming.
The G.T. Sands building was next to the current Village/Township Hall. Now Bell Park.
Firefighters attacked the fire from the roof of the Village Hall building.
PFD members Aaron Boyko, Terry Cluchey, Michele Fitzgerald, Tom Fitzgerald, Ray Hasil, & Paul Smith all completed this 5 hour class on how to escape and rescue from submerged vehicles at the Michigan State Police Training Academy.
This hands-on training included several blindfolded rescues of victims from a submerged vehicle simulator in 12 feet of water.
