Garrison Park, Beach St. Home Destroyed
Sun. Aug 12th 2007

Neighbors smelled smoke and called 911 about 4:20 a.m. Sunday morning.  Upon arrival of first responders, heavy fire was showing on the second floor, threatening houses directly north and south of the fire.  Residents in the house on the south side were evacuated.  No one was home in the house north of the fire, which sustained some damage to the siding and second floor bedroom.  Pentwater, Hart, Shelby, Crystal Valley, Riverton and Pere Marquette firefighters responded, transporting over 20,000 gallons of water to the fire.  Oceana EMS and the Red Cross assisted firefighters.
